My husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and I told him that I really wanted to update our very old looking bathroom. I was hoping he would say yes, and that is what he did. I immediately became excited, and I started to buy a bunch of different magazines to look at what other people’s bathrooms look like. I needed some inspiration. The one thing that would be the easiest to do is to find a place that does custom glass in Somerset County, NJ to create an entirely new bathroom door for us. The one that we had in there was about 35 years old and it really needed to be taken out and replaced with something that fits today’s decor.
I first needed to take some time to plan out the rest of the room. We had old bathroom cabinets in that room. I saw some instructions online that helped me to learn how to peel off the veneer, leaving only the wood underneath. Then when you have this freshly stripped wood as your palate, you can then paint over it. The photos I look at online were absolutely gorgeous. But despite me doing a good job painting, I wasn’t happy with what it looks like at 4. So I have the entire thing pulled out and a new bathroom cabinet pudding. Sometimes it is best to purchase something completely finished already because they look so much better.
Next, I pulled out the old toilet and my husband is installed the new one. The old toilet was pink and a throwback from the 1980s. I was so happy to get rid of it. When I was done with those two big things, I then tackled the new shower glass door. It looks beautiful and it really makes the room. Is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It has really upgraded everything in there.
